On the way into the office after 23 days off for the holidays, the two of us got into the spirit with a guessing game of, "How many emails will be waiting for me when I log on?" I lost with 17 emails to her 39. Based on our jobs, that is not so surprising.

This we I am again co-teaching with a new instructor-in-training. He has completed his 1st phase and now in phase 2, he must instruct two courses with an experienced instructor for a minimum of two courses. This is done to pass along, "hands on" experience under supervised conditions prior to their final monitoring/testing of teaching a course on their own with someone in the back of the room marking his instructional skills.

I never mind co-teaching with another instructor, but when it's an instructor-in-training, I get more nervous and cautious than normal since my name/number is the one on the certificates....should anything go wrong. In all fairness though, this week's co-teach has happily been low stress in compairison to other times. This person I am with is older, mature and on the ball. With experience I am confident he'll be a great instructor if he keeps with the program that he has set out for himself.

Anyway, things are getting back to their routine and all is well. At this point, I have 9 more courses before THE END! *LOL* My current conract ends in this March so far. If it is not extended, then I'll move on and look for another place to work. With all the f/t experience I have gained in this position, I am ensured of more simular contract work in two other places that I am aware of...so I have no worries.

Until later, Enjoy!

Fire, Fire, Fire!

Finally!

We've been moved in now for close to a month and the firestove is now properly installed. When we checked the place out, our insurance guy told us (and the owner) that the pipes had to meet a certain standard in order for us to be eligable for house insurance. Well, weeks later...without the use of the stove while we waited, we can finally use it.

The pipes were installed last week, but with work and everything we could not properly enjoy it until this weekend. We took a tour of Peggy's Cove yesterday and went to the theater to catch a couple of movies. Today, we spent the day enjoying the stove and the heat that the fire puts out. The dog has just curled up right beside it and fell alseep for most of the day. I think if he could, he'd sleep right under the stove. It's been so hot in here, we had to bring fans into the room to circulate the heat throughout the house and not just in this room.

Anyway, peiinfo.ca just posted the results from their latest challenge for it's verson of survivor called, Cutthroat Island. We lost game 1, we won game 2 and just now I found out we won game 3. Later in the contest the teams will break apart and it'll be a free for all. It's an interesting way to play a game.

'Til later, Enjoy!

Tuesday, August 17, 2004

Well the BBQ was the largest Meet & Greet we have had so far, with 15 people attending the event. My buddy is home for vacation for the next three weeks. He calls me up in the morning and starts telling me to get ready we are heading out. Rainy weather and all that, I had was in no mood to be heading out. After an hour of an IMing argument he basically sums it up by saying..."I'll be there in an hour, be ready."

Like some sucker, I got ready. We headed out on the "great adventure". We hit Brackley Beach looking in gift shops. Then we traveled to Murray Harbour for a store I mentioned to him last year that had Beanies. From there we were sitting at the intersection to Wood Islands and saw all the ferry traffic coming down the highway and knew that if we made a run for it....we could catch the ferry and make it for the next sailing.....so we did.

We got to New Glascow and looked in a couple of stores for more Beanies and decided that we could find them in Truo. *shrug* Well by the time we finished there we figured we were close enough to Halifax that we should keep on going and did. We hit the malls looking for more of those stuffed Beanies until the stores were closed (around 9pm) then we called some peeps we knew in Halifax and visted three different places before deciding it was time to return home at like around 11pm.

I walked back into my place at around 3am this morning and got some good sleep. My buddy still had a 25min to his parents place. It was a really cool trip....the great Beanie Treasure Hunt.

Friday, July 16, 2004

Welcome
